Aurora Memorial & Garrettsville Branches Reduced Hours- Beginning July 27

Portage County District Library (PCDL) is currently in final stages of preparing to reopen for public browsing.  Due to budgetary shortfalls resulting from the economic effects of COVID-19, two of the library's branch locations will have a small reduction in operating hours.  This change in operating hours will take place on Monday, July 27 and will be reflected in times open for contactless pick-up of holds, as well as hours when the buildings become open to the public.

Imagine Your Story: Summer Reading Club for Families

Portage County District Library (PCDL) announces that its annual summer reading program for children will continue this year with significant participation and event changes. These changes have been made to ensure that PCDL continues to follow state and federal government COVID-19 guidelines, and for the continued safety and well-being of patrons and staff. This year's “Imagine Your Story” summer reading program is designed to be completed by families at home.

Teen Summer Reading- Bingo Card Challenge & Poetry Contest

Area teens can take advantage of two opportunities to read, write, and enter to win prizes at all branch libraries of Portage County District Library this summer.

Portage County District Library (PCDL) is holding a poetry contest for all area teens. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to participate by writing a poem- of any style- describing their feelings and experiences regarding the Coronavirus pandemic or about the recent protests over racial injustice in our country.

The Magic Nate Show on Facebook...

Area children and families who normally attend summer programs at their local branch of Portage County District Library can visit the library’s Facebook page to enjoy The Magic Nate Show, a performance that has been made especially for the library. 

Magic Nate is a professional magician whose interest in magic started at the age of 8 when his grandmother bought him The Klutz Book of Magic.   He performs a mixture of classic and modern magic, has experience as a stage and street performer, and blends his talents to “create unique experience for every show.”
