Every year, Ohio students in grades K-12 nominate their favorite books for the Buckeye Children’s and Teen Book Awards. Then, beginning in September, students, teachers and librarians can vote for their favorites from the five nominees in each age categories.
Portage County District Libraries encourage young readers in our area to vote from the lists of nominees this year. If you haven’t read some of the books, there is still time to catch up! Voting online is open through November 10, with award-winners announced in December. We will announce the winners at that time, and it will be fun to see if your pick(s) win!
When voting, you can also nominate a book for next year’s award. The books must have been published in the last two years, and not be part of a series that has already won the award.
