Youth Services Librarian

Library Associate III

Location: Brimfield Branch

Pay Scale: Library Associate III

Minimum Rate of Pay: $15.40 per hour

Wages and terms of employment are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the Portage County District Library (PCDL) and SEIU, District 1199. 

Hours: Average of 37.5 hours per week, includes evenings and weekends. Hourly, Non-Exempt, Bargaining Unit.

Qualifications: Undergraduate four (4) year degree and applicable experience. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of children and young adult literature. Skill in preparing and implementing youth programs. Ability to maintain young adult and children's areas of the library. Knowledge of library policies and procedures; operation of automated library equipment; and computer operation and functions including data processing. Abilitiy to develop good rapport with library patrons, supervisors and co-workers. See Position Description for additional requirements.

Circulation Clerk

Library Associate I

Location(s): Aurora Memorial Branch & Brimfield Branch

Pay Scale: Library Associate I

Pay Rate for New Hires: $11.49 per hour

Wages and terms of employment are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the Portage County District Library (PCDL) and District 1199, SEIU.

Hours: Average of 20 hours a week, includes some evenings and weekends. Hourly, non-exempt, bargaining unit.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalency. Customer service skills. Basic computer skills and/or ability to learn such skills. See Position Description for additonal qualifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Circulation clerks serve patrons by checking material in and out, answering phone and patron questions, working on special projects and assisting in the Youth Service area as necessary.

Material Delivery Driver

Library Associate I

Location: Garrettsville

Pay Scale: Library Associate I

Pay Rate for New Hires: $11.49 per hour

Wages and terms of employment are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the Portage County District Library (PCDL) and District 1199, SEIU.

Hours: 15 hours per week, may include some evenings and weekends. Hourly, non-exempt, bargaining unit.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency and a valid Ohio Driver's License with a good driving record. Ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions; ability to move materials from one location to another.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to demonstrate physical fitness required for extended periods of manual labor. Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffice and transportation procedures. Performs daily delivery of library materials, supplies, and correspondence. Maintains and inspects delivery vans to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
